Zendio Email Tracking v Microsoft Email Read Receipts

A common question we get is how Zendio email tracking differs from an email read receipt in Microsoft Outlook. We first addressed this question about a year ago in this blog post, but thought it might be time for a refresher. As we will explain, Zendio offers a far more robust and reliable service when it comes to tracking emails.
Download and install Zendio in Microsoft Outlook.
By default, the link tracking option in Zendio is activated and will automatically notify you when links in your email are clicked. Here’s a quick overview of how Zendio Link Tracking works: When a user clicks on a link included in your email, the link is tracked by redirecting it through our servers. That way we can register the click before taking the user to their original URL. This process is similar to some of the URL shortening services used today like tinyurl and Bit.ly. The original URL is stored and displayed in your statistics area in the Zendio Inbox.
Notification Options
There are different options for receiving link tracking notifications:
- Get notifications automatically sent to your email inbox each time a link is clicked. These notifications are also stored in the statistics area of your Zendio Inbox.
- Notifications can go directly just to your Zendio inbox. This option means the notification is not emailed to you and is automatically stored along with all of your data in the tracking inbox. So whenever you need to find out if (and when) a link in your email was clicked, you can simply log into Zendio and review information for a specific email.
- Mobile alerts are great for people who are on the go. Just include your mobile phone number when you set up your account to receive notifications via text message sent to your smart phone.
You can set up your account for one or more notifications, and make changes at any time.
